TB Education & Training Resources Website E-Newsletter
January 2007

Greetings!

Welcome to this month's e-newsletter for the TB Education & Training Resources Website (findtbresources.cdc.gov). The purpose of this monthly newsletter is to inform you about the featured Highlight of the Month, additional helpful resources in the database, and other updates to the website.

Highlight of the Month

This month's highlight, Acid-Fast Direct Smear Microscopy Training Package, was developed by the CDC, WHO, RIT, IUATLD, APHL, and USAID. An effective TB control program depends upon laboratories providing accurate, reliable, and timely detection of TB cases. This package is designed so that TB control programs, Ministries of Health, and other key partners can conduct trainings on performing quality AFB microscopy. The training package includes presentations and exercises that can be adapted to reflect the technical procedures and policies within each country.
