This video discusses the challenges of childhood TB by telling the story of Mary, a five year old girl who lives in Africa. A community health worker helped her realize that her persistent cough may be TB.

The MDR-TB Planning Toolkit is designed to help assist countries develop or strengthen a multidrug-resistant tuberculosis (MDR-TB) component within their national TB strategy or plan. Eight tools contain worksheets to assist the user through key planning steps. The toolkit is intended for countries, technical partners, international organizations, and donors.

This is the seventeenth global report on tuberculosis (TB) published by WHO in a series that started in 1997. It provides a comprehensive and up-to-date assessment of the TB epidemic and progress in implementing and financing TB prevention, care and control at global, regional and country levels using data reported by 204 countries and territories that account for over 99% of the world’s TB cases.

The purpose of this document is to provide operational guidance to NGOs and other CSOs and NTPs or their equivalents in implementing and scaling-up integrated community-based TB prevention, diagnosis, treatment and care using the ENGAGE-TB approach described in the document. The principles are aligned with the Stop TB Strategy and are complementary to existing guidelines for engaging all health care providers (including NGOs) in TB prevention and care as part of a public–private mix.

The goal of the Global Fund (to eliminate AIDS, tuberculosis, and malaria) resonates powerfully with many young people and in response to frequent questions about how they could be involved, the Fund issued a Youth Guide directed especially to their interests. This new roadmap for 2011-2015 follows on the Global Plan to Stop TB 2006-2015 while setting new and more ambitious targets for the next five years. The purpose of this document is to highlight cases in which Advocacy, Communication and Social Mobilization (ACSM) interventions have contributed to a positive outcome of tuberculosis (TB) control activities directed to a range of audiences and settings. It is intended for on-the-ground stakeholders who are interested in successfully integrating ACSM strategies and activities into TB control programming, as well as for decision-makers who can provide greater political and financial support for ACSM activities at the national, sub-national and international level.
