The overall goal of the training course is to further develop the skills required to plan and implement collaborative TB/HIV activities based on the strategies for controlling TB and HIV/AIDS recommended by WHO. This training course uses a variety of methods of instruction to help health workers develop specific skills necessary to diagnose persons with TB and manage treatment for their patients. This set of online materials can be used by instructors in the core public health disciplines (Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Health Policy and Management, Environmental Health Sciences, and Social and Behavioral Sciences). The materials can help provide important and sometimes neglected content on the prevention and control of TB to graduate level public health students.

The purpose of this training toolkit is to build the capacity of health care workers to address and manage TB in children. The toolkit consists of ten modules. Topics include epidemiology of childhood TB, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, TB/HIV co-infection, multidrug-resistant TB, and community-based child TB management.
