The overall goal of the training course is to further develop the skills required to plan and implement collaborative TB/HIV activities based on the strategies for controlling TB and HIV/AIDS recommended by WHO. Includes a manual for participants, a guide for facilitators, and a guide for the course director.

Popularly known as “The Orange Guide”, the 6th edition of this small book provides practical guidance to health workers on the front line of TB control. It includes sections on HIV, MDR-TB and a review of the recommended treatment regimens.

This study examined the clinic records of TB programs to determine whether these programs used recommended practices to manage HIV-positive persons exposed to TB. The study suggests that TB programs need to review their contact investigation policies, procedures, and outcomes to reduce missed opportunities for preventing active TB among HIV-positive close contacts.

This series covers six topics —TB disease, TB infection, tuberculin skin testing, TB contact investigation, TB and HIV coinfection, and TB medicine. The materials are in English (low literacy), Spanish with English translation, Tagalog with English translation, and Vietnamese with English translation.

The Policy Guidelines outline the detailed evidence and explanation of the recommendations and describe the methods, the people involved and the summary of conflicts of interest. The aim of this guidance is to provide a strategic approach to reducing TB- and HIV-related morbidity and mortality among drug users and their communities in a way that promotes holistic and person-centred services.

This report describes the progress of the Stop TB Partnership. It reports that TB control is succeeding around the world. The challenges include increasing and sustaining new funding levels; strengthening the public health system, including the availability, capacity, and motivation of human resources; empowering households and communities; engaging providers in the private and other sectors; and creating and adopting new technology, such as diagnostics, drugs, and vaccines.

Using a self-study format, this publication presents the physical principles of plain chest radiography, enabling clinicians to 1) understand how chest radiographs are created and why normal anatomy and pathology may or may not be visualized using radiographs; 2) gather information from the radiograph; and 3) read and interpret chest radiographs for the presence of TB disease using standard terminology.

This report, based upon current available scientific knowledge and medical practice, provides information to the medical community concerned with the care of individuals with tuberculosis and/or HIV/AIDS.
