Abstract
This information sheet discusses general information about TB. It explains how TB affects the body, its symptoms, and method of transmission as well as the difference between latent TB infection (LTBI) and TB disease. The information sheet also explains what to do after being in contact with an individual who has LTBI, or active TB disease. It describes TB testing, including TB skin test or blood test; the bacille Calmette-Guerin (BCG) TB vaccine; and treatment of LTBI and active TB disease.
